Fly Flatts, fresher after the storm.

Still at least 4 Dunlin showing

1 of 2 juv Ringed Plover

                                    Second brood on the way.

                                Plenty Swifts over the water
The Dean Head Rhododendrons are flowering well.
                                    Redshanks with well hidden chicks.

A fresher morning at Fly Flatts after the overnight thunderstorm and heavy rain. A cool E>3 was blowing at 12 degrees with full cloud breaking up mid watch.
Again, the usual waders were very lively enjoying the wet mud after last nights rain, whilst the original pair of Ringed Plover were mating for their usual second brood having no need now to watch over their 2 juvs that are flying as well as the adults.
A Snipe was calling from the reeds throughout, and 2 Curlews were in the top field.
Nothing skyward other than 2 LBB gulls heading >NE and again no sound of the usual Cuckoo up there which is the first year I,ve not had at least one and its now getting too late this year, other than moving juvs.
