At last, some decent weather at Fly Flatts with 80% cloud on a cool ESE>3 at 15 degrees but feeling much cooler in the brisk breeze and the long awaited rain.
Waders were very lively, moving around the shore but still down to the usual species with no surprise visits as yet. The 2 juv Ringed Plovers from the original breeding pair are looking after themselves now so the adults are looking like going for a second brood by going through the usual pre brood procedure.
Plenty Swallows and Swifts this morning whilst a pair of Stonechat and a single Grey Wagtail were present near the old feeding station. A walk the full length of the west bank found 4 remaining Curlew plus 7 Ringed Plover and 6 Dunlin as well as Common Sandpipers, Redshank and Oystercatchers.
