Beaten by the heat.

With the temperature already at 18 degrees at 0700 hrs on a very light >NE 2 with full sun, Fly Flatts was out of the question so headed for the nearest port of call for a once around Ogden in the shade of the trees.
What a thankless task that was with 2 LBBs and a Gt Crested Grebe on the water plus the usual Mallards, Canada and a Heron. A Jay flew through the trees plus a single Willow Warbler singing somewhere up in the leaves and unseen so I still havent had a warbler species this year yet though thats the penalty for watching Fly Flatts. Whatever happened to passerine alley that used to be heaving with Garden, Willow, Blackcap and Chiffchaff.
By 0830 hrs I was more concerned watching for uncontrolled dogs flying around rather than look for birds, my two must have wondered why they were the only two with leads on. By 0845 hrs I was back home reminding myself not to return to Ogden until its bad weather and the gulls start to return.
