2 of 5 Oystercatchers
Canada goslings growing well.
Swifts piling through.
Usual Common Sandpipers
The east peninsular.
Water getting to a good level now
Dunlin against sun angle.
as well as Common Sand
A decent morning at Fly Flatts and just managed to get away before the hot stuff arrived.
Part cloud with some sun on a nice cool ENE>3 at 9 degrees.
Swifts were once again feeding over the water and slowly moving >N along with a few Swallows but otherwise empty skies, other than a single LBB gull >NE.
A good check of the east and west bank just produced the usual Dunlins, Common Sandpipers and Redshanks whilst 5 Oystercatchers were new in. Good to see the male Ringed Plover feeding on the mud whilst the female is still protecting her chicks but able to check how many. They should fledge within 10 days now. Over 400 Canada Geese, including young , are now on the water, which does,nt help me cleaning the floating jetty daily.
On the way home House Martins are back in their nesting area at the top of Whitegate.
