The June lull bites at Fly Flatts, Ogden slightly better.

FLY FLATTS                            Common Sandpiper on chick guard.

                                           Usual pair of Ringed Plover

OGDEN                                Very few gulls, mainly Lesser Black Backed.

Common Sandpiper on the west shore

                                                Adult Herring

                                                        LBBs
                                                  Buzzard high over the water

A NE wind never does me any favours at Fy Flatts and this morning was no exception with another NE and another quiet watch. A NE>2 on full cloud with a low cloud base at 8 degrees.Nothing in the sky other than flocks of around 200 post breed Starlings moving around field to field.
The usual waders present including a Snipe on a distant fence post and a Cuckoo calling from down in the valley.
Ogden mid afternoon was a bit more active put poor on gulls with just 9 LBBs , 3 Herring and a Black Headed whilst a single Common Sandpiper was on the west shore.
The 2 Gt Crested Grebe were on the water along with the drake Tufted but no sign of NKs Redshank from earlier in the day. A Buzzard soared high above the water drifting >W being harassed by several Swifts.
