A June expected bird for Fly Flatts

                                         12 Dunlin now present

One I,ve been expecting, drake Common Scoter

Keeping well out on the water.

                                                  Common Sandpiper chick still present.
In excess of 400 Canadas now including goslings.
                                                        Dunlin on every shore.

                                          Female Ringed Plover

A much more pleasant morning at Fly Flatts today, even though the temperature was up at 18 degrees by 0800 hrs, the moderate SW>4 made it much fresher with broken cloud and sunshine.
Every June I get a visit from Common Scoter so it was no surprise to find a single drake on the water today but always very distant despite a dash along the west bank.
Yet more Dunlin today with at least 12 in the area now, mainly using the new exposed island which is a real asset for the waders which included the usual species.
The stronger wind brought a few gulls in with 9 LBBs on the north shore whilst a drake Tufted was on the water.
