Dunlin City, (Fly Flatts permit only)

                                    Several Dunlins new in today.

Oystercatchers waiting for young to fledge

                                                 No breeding for the Barnacle.
Excess of 600 Canadas now including goslings.
Another male Ringed Plover arrived today.

Another uncomfortable morning at Fly Flatts with a light SE>2 with blue cloudless skies at 18 degrees by 0730 hrs and the sun belting down.
Another increase in Dunlins with at least 16 present now, mainly at the north end taking advantage of the large expanse of muddy shore whilst another male Ringed Plover had arrived and at least 8 Redshank present , most with young.
An amazing year for Canadas with an excess of  600 geese now including a large count of  well grown goslings, many of which are hard to tell from the adults, plus the 11 goslings to the 2 Greylag families are now fledged.
Otherwise it was the normal wader species plus a single Curlew whilst the only bird airborne was a Kestrel.
Hopefully some rain tomorrow and lower temperatures so we can get back on track, and apart from the birding, my water butt is nearly empty.
