Gulls starting to return to the area.

                                                          4 Dunlin present

                                      Usual pair of Ringed Plover
Swarms of Swifts over the water
                                                      juv Swift

                                        5  Common Sandpipers + chicks

Another pleasant birding morning at Fly Flatts with a nice cool NE>2 at 9 degrees with broken cloud and sunshine.
On the drive there it was pleasing to see around 40 gulls on Mixenden reservoir and several Herring and LBBs over Fly Flatts showing a welcome start to the return of gulls to the area.
Plenty wader activity at Fly Flatts on the extensive shore though no newcomers arrived as yet and no more Scoters on the water.
Curlews have already started to move with several already left the area leaving just the ones with young behind. The sky was full of Swifts throughout with several juvs present.
