The Oystercatchers had moved their 2 young to the fields today.
Only 3 Dunlin present
Dunlin and Oyk.
All Common Sandpipers with young now.
A good year for breeding Meadow Pipits.
The 2 Greylag families near fledging
More gems on the water, 4 Common Scoter, males.
Another of my favourite weather mornings with a cold NW>4 and full cloud bringing some light drizzle across the moor at 9 degrees.
June is always the best month for Common Scoter at Fly Flatts so another 4 in today was.nt really a surprise but hard to pick out in the rough water as the kept to the centre of the water at the north end. A dash on the west bank got me something near in range but still keeping at distance.
I,m still waiting for a good size raft of them dropping in with 4 being the most I,ve had together, although we once had 72 on TMR many moons ago.
Nothing else out of the ordinary with the usual waders and still only 3 Dunlin whilst the Ringed Plovers are still holding onto their eggs.
