Fly Flatts and checking the gulls at Ogden.

FLY FLATTS                                     Usual waders present,   Dunlin

                                         Common Sandpiper
                                         Ringed Plover
Distant view of Ringed Plover chick

Pair of Pied Wagtail busy feeding 5 chicks.

1 Breeding pair and 1 male Wheatear.
OGDEN                                Good selection of LBB and Herrings

A nice morning to be up on the tops with a light NNE>3 and broken cloud with sunshine at 7 degrees.
A low count of waders today though some were flitting about on the north muddy shore. Another brief sighting of the Ringed Plover chick and a Common Sandpiper chick was at the NE end of the shore. A pair of Wheatear and a pair of Pied Wagtail are both feeding young whilst there are several Curlew, Lapwing, Snipe and Redshank chicks around.
Rain showers mid afternoon made it safe to do a gull check at Ogden though by 1445 hrs, when the sun came out, cars were rolling in.
A good show of Herring and LBB, with Yellow Legged Herring being the target gull,  June/July being the peak time for this area. Nothing on the water other than 2 Canadas and the usual Mallards with the 2 Gt Crested Grebe gone.

Stuck on 12 wader species at Fly Flatts this year so far with :-
Curlew
Lapwing
Snipe
Golden Plover
Redshank
Oystercatcher
