Easterlies at Fly Flatts/ Possible YL Herring at Ogden.

FLY FLATTS                                    Usual waders present,  Dunlin

Oystercatchers on the move.  6 present

Near 400 Canadas now inc goslings.
4 more Oyks in totalling 10 present.

OGDEN  1st June                This gull under scrutiny for Yellow Legged Herring.

A pleasant morning at Fly Flatts  with early fog clearing by 1073 hrs leaving full cloud on a very light E>2 at 8 degrees. Mid afternoon was bright and warm at 10 degrees with the wind increased to E>4.
Not the best wader conditions in the morning with very little seen with no wind to get them mobile. No sign of Dunlin or Ringed Plover with just Common Sandpiper and Redshank.
The highlight was 6 Oystercatchers on the north shore staying throughout the day.
The mid afternoon visit was much livelier with the increase in wind and Dunlin and Ringed Plover had re appeared as well as all the usual waders including 2 Snipe whilst another 4 Oyks came in low over the water to join the 6 still present. Hopefully the moderate easterlies for tomorrow will blow some of the Black Terns my way with several about at the moment.
The gulls on my blog from Ogden 1/6 got me a text wake up call from MC with the above gull being a possible Yellow Legged Herring showing a red orbital ring, good head and bill shape and legs a fleshy pale yellowish colour, this bird being a sub adult and still under investigation.
