Waxwing roost at Ogden

Few Common gulls on the water

Another dark  drizzly early morn at Ogden on a light W>3 at 5 degrees with full low cloud cover and fog on the tops.
As I walked the west bank 18 Waxwings took off out the plantation and headed >SW towards Halifax but quickly went out of sight as my vision was blocked by trees.
The Alders held a group of 10 Bullfinch but still part dark at 0830 hrs so no photos worth blogging.
A group of around 20 Siskin were flying around above the trees but every time they landed they were immediately flushed by loud talking joggers running round the track. The flock had 3 attempts at feeding but quickly flushed each time disappearing into the plantation.
Another 3 Bullfinch were in Passerine Alley on the east bank along with several Blackbirds, possibly continentals.
Nothing on the water other than a handful of Common gulls and the usual Mallards.
A spoilt morning today with too many people around the track, even at first light,0815 hrs, mostly very vocal, and flushing everything in sight, and 2 more weeks of school holidays to contend with.
More of the same tomorrow ,weather wise, light rain and a moderate westerly.
