Another horror day with dense fog and heavy rain developing into clear but dark skies with heavy rain and wind increasing to near gale SW> 7 threatening strong gale W>9 by late evening before dropping overnight.
A check down the east coast RNLI cameras found the weather just as bad as here with dark skies and heavy rain but interesting to watch the waders ahead of the incoming tide with Turnstones, Dunlins and Oystercatchers plus several unidentified with the cameras losing clarity on zoom. Also several Scoters, mostly offshore but 2 in Whitby harbour.
Redcar has an amazing number of waders below the esplanade as the tide is coming in with counts of  Oystercatchers in triple figures. Well its better than watching the telly.
Another wet day tomorrow on a very light wind from various directions which smells like fog.
