OGDEN                                juv Mute Swan seems to be less distressed now.
                                              Feeding well

Hoping it will move on soon. It was bred at Middleton Park,
and has spent some time on Harold Park Bradford.

Wet, windy and cold at Fly Flatts this morning with a chilly W>4 and full dark clouds bringing heavy drizzle from the west at 9 degrees.
The weather was favourable for the waders all frantically feeding and squabbling on the shore. Still waiting for another Sanderling or two and hopefully a Turnstone which usually show up in May, then anything is possible come June, July and August.
The first family of Stonechats came through today with 2 adults and 3 juvs not stopping long before heading for the Flat Moor.
Plenty gulls hanging around the north end where all the Lapwing chicks are whilst a pair of Teal were on the muddy bank.
Back to Ogden this afternoon to check the Mute Swan after Judy did a morning check. It was using the open water more today and seemed to be feeding well whilst Judy says its wings seem ok so no reason that it shouldnt fly. Hopefully it will soon have the strength back to move on but till then it will keep being monitored.
Bird wise Ogden was dead with just 1 LBB on the water and a single Heron along with song birds noisy but hidden in the trees.
