Back with the waders, Fly Flatts,(permit only)

                                                                Herring gulls heading >W

                                            Just 2 male Wheatear present
                                                                  A count of 12 Dunlin

                                               Little and Large

Barnacle paired with Canada but no sign of breeding.

Grey Wagtail, not common at Fly Flatts.

                                                 Dunlins over the waves.

                                                          male Wheatear

Less windy this morning at Fly Flatts with a N>3 at 8 degrees with broken cloud and sunshine.
No surprise birds today with no signs of yesterdays Short Eared Owl and the Sanderling moved on but still a good count of Dunlin despite limited shore. In May 2019, when the water was partially drained Dunlins peaked at 48 during the month.
Common Sandpipers are now very noisy protecting their territory whilst I suspect the Ringed Plover pair, that arrived in February, have chicks by the way they are acting but not seen any as yet.
A group of Herring gulls headed >W whilst a Grey Wagtail was a not so common visitor here.
House Martins are back at their Whitegate breeding area.
