                                                           Herring

                                                   Plenty Swifts over very high

Another of those hard work mornings at Fly Flatts with a freezing cold near gale W>6 gusting 7 at 32 m.p.h. with full cloud at 6 degrees but feeling much colder given the wind chill factor.
The area was alive with small waders all flying low over the water from one shore to another before eventually settling to feed on the shoreline.
A single male Wheatear was present, probably being the same Greenland thats been around for the last few days, whilst 5 LBB gulls were on the peninsular and a single Raven flew overhead.
Mid afternoon and a visit to check the gulls at Bank Top found LBBs and Herrings but no small gulls present.
Several Swifts were high above the water whilst otherwise wildfowl was poor with just the usual Mallard, Canada, Mute Swan, Coot and Moorhen.
