Most of the Dunlins had moved on today
female Pied Wagtail carrying food.
Still 5 Wheatear present
The Ringed Plover pair have been here since mid February.
Nice find whilst driving home. SEO
Unusual find for this site, Cuckoo
Very distant shots at 960mm.
Constantly pestered with Meadow Pipits.
A bright morning at Fly Flatts with broken cloud and sunshine on a light S>3 at 12 degrees.
The majority of Dunlins had moved on leaving 4 present as well as the usual Common Sandpipers, Redshanks and Ringed Plovers along with a single Snipe.
A visit from a Cuckoo was nice having missed it in the fog yesterday and hearing it for the past few days down in the Dean Head valley. It kept at distance, just within camera range at full stretch, working its way along the fence posts constantly harassed by Meadow Pipits.
The 5 Wheatear were still along the shoreline as well as at least 4 Reed Bunting.
On my way home mid morning a Short Eared Owl was sat on a roadside fence post just long enough for me to anchor on and throw myself out of the car to get a snap.
