The beauty of Dunlins and another Greenland Wheatear. Fly Flatts(permit only)

Still 3 displaying Ringed Plover present.

                                            Female Pied Wagtail
                                         Ringed Plover
                                         Goldies and Oyk at Nolstar

A prime time to get Dotterel
5 years since Dotterel seen at this site.

                                       Back to the Dunlins

                                              2 Common Sandpiper.

                                                                Grub up
                                        What amazing waders Dunlin are.
                                               Female Greenland Wheatear

A terrible morning at Fly Flatts with a moderate SW>4 with drizzle then heavy rain at 7 degrees.
By mid afternoon the wind had moved to W>4 with broken cloud and sunshine.
Morning conditions looked ideal for Terns but just 5 Herring gull through >SE, otherwise just a low count of the usual waders but unable to scope in the driving rain.
On the way home, a check of the Nolstar fields produced several Golden Plover , all checked for Dotterel, as we are now at the peak time for this species. It was early May five years ago that the last report of Dotterel came from these fields. 3 Oystercatchers were also in the same field.
Mid afternoon and brighter conditions back at the reservoir and much livelier with Dunlin and Common Sandpiper everywhere as well as Ringed Plover and Redshank.
Several Swallow headed >SE over the water as well as 4 Swift whilst a Peregrine headed >N over the western ridge.
No Goldies at Nolstar as I passed but a cracking female Greenland Wheatear in the Plover field.
