More strong wind and rain for Fly Flatts. (permit only).

                                         Always Kestrels present.

         The east shore peninsular disappearing.
                                       Very little shoreline, NE shore.
Big black rain cloud over the west bank with BS stamped on it.

  • A moderate WSW>5 increasing >6 with heavy rain and drizzle showers throughout the day with a morning temperature of 9 degrees. Lots of cloud to the west.
  •                                                Once again the strong wind played havoc with the migration with very little movement and very low counts. 5 Teal was about the best of the bunch, very high and >NW during a heavy shower. Only one Wheatear found today after a morning and then an afternoon walk along the west bank, the morning walk getting nothing for me other than a reet good soaking. Just 2 LBB gulls on the north shore though plenty Black Headed in the Skylark field on Cold Edge Road. Good to see that a few birders have now obtained permits to enter Fly Flatts.
