Hopes of a Med gull today dashed, dense Fog.

My thoughts of history repeating itself today with a Mediterranean gull at Leeshaw, 12 months to the day from one appearing last year, were soon dashed with dense fog throughout the day up here in the gods. I,ve put together several local Med gulls from the last few years which I viewed and photographed from Redcar Tarn, Thornton fields and Leeshaw reservoir. The gulls were found or re-located by either  myself, Mark Pearson, Brian Vickers or Keith Moir.
I,ve yet to find my first Ogden and Mixenden Med gull, where I,ve had Iceland gull at both sites, but Med gulls have so far avoided me. Fly Flatts has also failed to produce Med gull but this is a very poor site for gulls although I get several Yellow Legged Herring during the summer months and have had 2 Caspian gull fly overs.
The dreaded light easterly wind is back tomorrow with a good chance of more fog and looking back at last December I had 4 mornings grounded due to fog on the 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th so hopefully I,m not in for a re-run.
