Fog and Ice stopped play.

A real horrendous day up here on the tops starting with thick fog which lasted throughout the day. By midday the rain started and with the temperature at minus 2 it immediately froze as it hit the ground entombing the whole area in a thick coating of ice which was near impossible to walk on. When the dogs wanted to go out I had to lift them out onto the gravel so they could stand up.
Midday, before the rain started, we went down to Sainsburys, Halifax where the Rowans were heaving with Blackbird, Mistle Thrush, Fieldfare and Redwing, whilst a group of around 8 Siskin were in the Alders.
A jump up to 13 degrees tomorrow with rain on a strong southerly so hopefully the ice will disappear overnight.
