Not the best start to August. Fly Flatts, (permit only)

Another foggy, drizzly start to the day but the mist soon cleared to leave dark clouds on a light NE>3.
By late afternoon it was dry and bright at 18 degrees.
A walk the full length of the west bank ,both morning and afternoon, plus a full scope round the shoreline, failed to find any waders other than 3 juv Lapwing on the east bank.
A single Tufted duck was on the water as well as the usual geese whilst a few LBB gulls went >NE, and the afternoon brought a nice V formation of 12 Herring gull also >NE. It can only get better.
