No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

Leeshaw/Doe Park

Plenty Goldfinch around at both sites.

                                            Whitethroat moving through Leeshaw.

A second Cormorant for Doe Park. A younger brown bird.

Thick fog on the tops this morning but again Leeshaw reservoir was just below the cloud base with very calm conditions at 16 degrees with light drizzle. Late afternoon brought some heavy showers but nothing near as bad as the forecast predicted.
A quiet day all round with nothing that could be classed as visible migration though there was a good selection of common birds.
A Whitethroat at Leeshaw was pick of the bunch along with some good flocks of Goldfinch on the thistle tops and 16 Stock Dove in the field. A Curlew was heard early doors but no sighting due to low scud clouds.
Doe Park late afternoon also had good flocks of Goldfinch but the Willow Warblers and Tit flock had moved on. A second Cormorant was present, this being a younger, much browner bird compared to the resident one. A few Swallows were feeding over the water whilst several gulls ,mainly Black Headed, moved towards TMR again. A Dipper flew downstream in the outlet and a Buzzard nearly slipped past me high and >N towards Harden Moor.
