A good move of Swallows through >S
A few Black Headed >SW
Very little time for the camera this morning.
An ideal morning at Fly Flatts with a nice light grey sky giving a perfect background to pick up the passing birds. A light SW>3 increased late p.m. to SW>4 at 16 degrees.
A really hectic morning with the compound fence alive with Stonechat, Willow Warbler , Meadow Pipit and Wheatear which in turn produced Merlin, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.
Difficult watching and checking through the small passerines as the sky was also buzzing with LBB and Black Headed gull as well as Swallows and the first true move of Meadow Pipits high and >SW as well as scores blogging on the deck.
Nothing around the waters edge but encouraging to find a Redshank by the lagoon but unfortunately it saw me first so flushed onto the flat moor not to be re located.
By late afternoon all was quiet apart from Stonechats and Wheatears plus a few remaining Mipits. Anyone interested in visible migration, now,s the time to get out there and watch the skies.
