Wrens moving through. Though mainly indigenous some
do move in a wider area.

                                           5 Stonechat still present

A very wet and bedraggled Short Eared Owl
Very high above the water after a full night of heavy rain.

                                                Trying to shake itself dry.

                                             4 Stonechat and a Wren
                                                 Only 2 Wheatear present

Very lively weather today with a moderate WSW>5 and torrential rain showers and drizzle throughout the day. The morning had a very low cloud base and scud clouds moving over the water with a temp of 14 degrees.
Although all the shore has gone now and water is up to the overflow, there was still plenty going on to keep me occupied. A group of 5 Stonechat were still present around the boatyard fence along with 4 Wrens and 2 Wheatear plus swarms of Meadow Pipits.
During a short break in the rain a Short Eared Owl was high above the water looking very wet after having to endure yesterdays and last nights heavy rain. It kept flapping its wings and shaking looking as if it was trying to dry its feathers out.
Only a couple of LBB gulls moving today but Swallows and Swifts were coming through this afternoon with the Swallows flying dangerously low above me and making me duck a couple of times.
Anglers Country Park had over 700 Swifts over this morning.
I need some drastic dry spells now to get the water down if I,m to get any waders dropping in this autumn.
