5 Willow Warblers present
Fly catching
Flies for breakfast
Another foggy, drizzly start but soon clearing to leave a bright and breezy morning with a SW>3 and broken cloud with some sunshine. The afternoon brought drizzle near the end of the watch.
With the water creeping down, but far too slowly, I,m still struggling to get any waders in so it was down to a passerine watch as well as some sky movement.
Up above, LBB gulls were moving >SE in half decent numbers as well as Swallows and Linnets whilst, as normal at this time of year, 4 Kestrels were up together along the west bank with another 3 up over the Nab. This behavior usually lasts about 2 weeks before they disperse.
On the deck, it was down to Stonechat and Wheatear with Willow Warblers in the lagoon tree. Meadow Pipits are starting to group now, flying around in small flocks of 10 to 20 birds, meaning that they are getting ready to move.
