Another passerine day at Fly Flatts, (permit only)

                                           1 of 3 distant Wheatear
Up to 11 Willow Warblers present.

Very high Buzzard, well into moult.
                                                     Willow Warbler

Not very nice conditions today with clear, cloudless skies and hot sunshine for both sessions. Morning was the worst with next to nothing SW>1 breeze and a bit more pleasant late afternoon with the wind turned SE>2 but up at 21 degrees. A heavy shower moved over midday but unfortunately, not whilst I was there. The water board  official and me were getting bitten to death with midges early morn.
No sign of the Black Redstart today but up to 11 Willow Warblers were in the compound Willow tree  as well as 4 Wren whilst 3 Wheatear were near the feeding station. Just 3 Black Headed gulls were on the water as well as the usual Canadas whilst a bit of movement was in the air.
A single Curlew went over high and west closely followed by a Great Spotted Woodpecker , which was obviously a mover being equally as high and also >W.
A very raggy Buzzard headed >S, so high you could only just see it with the naked eye as it disappeared into the sun ,whilst a handful of Swallows skimmed the water, also >S but no Swifts today.
