Spotted Redshank, best I could do today at distance.
shows the slight downward curvature of the bill
A similar day to yesterday but the NE > 4 was much stronger. A mixture of cloud with sunny intervals at 12 degrees.
A clear out of passerines from the boatyard with just 3 Stonechat remaining along with 2 Wheatear. No sign of either the Knot or the Spotted Redshank until mid watch when the Spotted Red flew from the shelter of the NE corner and landed back at its original position by the peninsular reed bed. It continued to feed in the waters edge slowly working its way along the east bank.
Otherwise it was down to a few Swallows >N into the wind whilst 3 Herring gull went >SE.
A Raven and 2 Kestrels were over the quarry and the long staying female Tufted duck was out on the water.
An afternoon visit failed to find the Spotted Red along the east bank but DJS approached from the northern end checking the area where it flew from this morning and re located it in the NE corner, feeding in the waters edge and preening on the shore.
The bird was still present this evening but mobile and noisy meaning it could be ready for off tonight,( AC).
