Out in the fog, Fly flatts

                                    Just 2 Wheatear present

                                        SE corner
The shore has now reached the island

Just short of the waders now.
                                    Poor visibility.

As promised, thick fog on the tops with light drizzle throughout. Each time the NE>3 increased, the fog partially lifted, and then as the wind dropped the fog rolled in again. Mild at 11 degrees.
Just enough visibility to check the nearby shores but no chance of any scoping with visibility very limited. Still several Meadow Pipits on the, now extensive, shore along with 2 Wheatear, though yesterdays wave of Stonechat and Wheatear have moved through. Disappointing with the fog but I,ll stick on in there with chance of  anything at this time of year as MC just proved as he text me a video  of an Arctic Skua over one of his local reservoirs. This bird was bang on schedule, mid Aug to mid Sept with a NE wind. See Oxon blog for photos, linked on right.
Hopefully the fog should clear by 0700 hrs in the morning on a moderate NNE wind.
