More islands appearing
The peninsular well exposed
SE corner
Fog easing slightly
Tons of shore, no waders
Another foggy morning at Fly Flatts but slightly clearer than yesterday with visibility over the water but a low cloud base. A light ENE>2 at 11 degrees and damping throughout,.
With water now down to a record low several islands are starting to appear and large areas of shore are exposed on the east, south east and north . All I need now is the waders on which hope is fading.
All the Stonechat from yesterday, and most of the Mipits have moved through just leaving a few Mipits around the shore plus 2 Canadas on the water.
Some movement with birds coming through low, below the cloud base, whilst a skein of Pinks headed >E over the south end of the reservoir, and though very noisy, they went through unseen in the fog.
An early flock of Woodpigeons headed >S, a species that are usually the last to go as the vis mig season in drawing to a close when the pile over in massive flocks.
Another 3 days of easterly winds to look forward meaning another 3 days of fog and then at last the wind comes away from the east so a chance of seeing the sky after Monday.
