As good as it got
Canadas in the fog
6 Stonechat present
Goldfinch in the gloom
Up in the fog
Plenty Mipits
The fog finally caught up with me this morning with a pea -souper on the tops on a light NE>3 at 10 degrees and light drizzle.
With very limited visibility over the water and no visibility above it was a matter of checking the shoreline and bushes to see if the fog had brought anything down. It was very lively with small migrants, these being mainly Meadow Pipits though 6 Stonechat were a good find in the compound.
Several Goldfinch were ground feeding as well as Reed Buntings whilst 2 Canada geese were present.
At 0912 hrs a skein of Pink Footed Geese went over >E and just to the south of me with plenty contact calling but went through unseen in the fog. A second report of Pinks came from my Shelf Moor number one lookout Peter Turner at 1255 hrs reporting a skein over Shelf Moor heading >NE. Thanks for that Peter.
Looking like another capful of fog on a light ENE tomorrow morning and right through the weekend.
