Migrant day, Fly Flatts

                                11 distant Stonechat present

                                    7 Wheatear new in.

Still checking this for White Wagtail

                                    More Stonechats.

A pleasant morning on the tops with sunshine and 30% cloud on a light NNW>3 at 11 degrees. Clouded over by 1000 hrs.
A good fall of migrants overnight  with the shore littered with Meadow Pipits along with a good count of at least 11 Stonechat, some on the distant Flat Moor walls and others in the compound bushes.
A count of 7 Wheatear were new arrivals along the south shore with a few Reed Buntings darting about around the lagoon.
Nothing special on the water with 5 LBB gulls, 7 Canadas and 2 Mallard, whilst the sky remained empty. At least the presence of the migrants restored my fading enthusiasm in Fly Flatts.
With the dreaded NE wind for tomorrow and right over the weekend there is a promise of a capful of fog over the next 4 days.
