Leeshaw Reservoir below the fog.

                                    Plenty gulls to sift through.

The fog continued this morning, as it will for the next two days until the wind gets away from the east.  Leeshaw was just below the cloud base with a light NE>4 at 12 degrees and full cloud cover.
Hold ups at Denholme Gate with the road closure and 3 way traffic lights but luckily traffic was light, it being weekend, so no real problem, though not a place to go during the week with works traffic.
Gulls were the main feature this morning with a good count of LBB and Black Headed plus a few Common and Herring. The birds were very mobile, constantly moving around between the water, the shore, and the fields but a good check through failed to find any specials.
A group of 17 Lapwing were on the shore before heading off >SE along with 4 Swallows moving through in the same direction. A poor vis mig count in the low cloud with just a few Mipits, though a group of Cormorant were a good sighting.
Another week and the first Redwings should start to appear.
Wind still from the north east in the morning but stronger with still the promise of  more fog.
