And yet more fog. Leeshaw

                                    LBBs in the rain

                                    Several in moult.

Another morning of thick fog and even a foggy start at Leeshaw, which is unusual, but started clearing when the rain set in by 0830 hrs. Very calm with a NE>1 at 12 degrees. By 0945 hrs the rain was bouncing down in stair rods.
As soon as the fog started to lift I got a 15 minute burst of Meadow Pipits through, all low and >NE but none after that. A group of  9 Cormorants appeared out of the mist low over the water continuing
direct >E. They may have come off the shore after roosting or come through from the west but still too foggy to tell at this time.
Good conditions for a gull movement with several LBBs  heading >W and 21 on the shore along with 33 Black Headed but no Commons or Herring.  Just 2 Teal left on the water from yesterday along with Mallards and the single female Goosander that has been at this site since the spring.
Another cloudy morning forecast for morning with a light N turning NW with visibility showing as good, which I will believe when I see it. Hopefully, if its clear, I may get some of Simons Pink Footed geese being seen over the Manchester area.
