LBB Gulls on the far shore
LBBs moving through
A better morning at Fly Flatts with 90% cloud cover on a light E>2 at 11 degrees and slightly hazy visibility in the distance.
Despite the better grey sky background making movers easier to see things were much quieter with very little movement passerine wise, and all yesterdays Mipits from around the shore had gone overnight.
Two skeins of Pink Footed Geese were seen, the largest of the two heading >SE but well to the south of me so only countable through the scope with a count of 91 though this skein coincided ,timewise, with the one Daniel B picked up from Soil Hill, see Trektellen, counting 89 which was possibly from a photo as the geese would have passed him much nearer.
The second skein was well to the north of me heading west with a count of 26 fifteen minutes later.
A group of LBB gulls were on the north shore with several passing through>SE whilst Mipits, Linnets, Reed Bunting and Alba Wagtails were the only other contenders plus a couple of Swallow.
Nothing of note on the water other than Canada geese and Greylag whilst 5 Lapwing were on the north shore.
Still hanging on to the light easterly in the morning with a strong chance of fog, hopefully keeping down in the valleys. Apologies to birders down in the lowlands.
