1 of 3 Stonechat.
Several Fieldfare
Single Goldfinch
An atrocious morning at Leeshaw with a moderate SSW>4 increasing S>5 with heavy rain and drizzle throughout. Fog on the hills causing a low dark cloud-base at 6 degrees. Certainly not a day for the camera.
As happens many times, the weather you don,t want to be out in produces the birds, as it did this morning. On arrival 17 Wigeon were out on the water but very mobile, flying around then re-landing several times before heading off >E after about 15 minutes.
A group of 3 Stonechat moved through on the weed tops as well as a single Goldfinch and 3 Meadow Pipits whilst around 40 Fieldfare were in the goose field.
Otherwise, on the water, 2 Cormorant, 1 female Goosander, 12 Mallard along with 6 LBB and 2 Herring gulls. Several small gulls but, once again, scattered all around distant fields.
Just the usual Lapwings, small gulls and 2 LBBs as well as several Starling on the Raggalds Flood.
