Fly Flatts bart fog.

                                    Rough water at Fly Flatts

                                High tide

                                    Looking out to sea.
                                    Several Common gulls present.
Commons taken at distance with Canon 300 IS  L + 1.4 converter.

A dull start to the morning with thick dark scud clouds rolling over from the west but soon clearing to leave sunny spells on a moderate W>5 at a cold 5 degrees.
An early move >S of  what will be the last dregs of Woodpigeons and Meadow Pipits but this dried up by 0800 hrs leaving it down to just gulls the rest of the watch. Several Common gulls were in the fields with 10 remaining on the water throughout the watch which is unusual at this site to have Commons.
A few LBBs headed >NE very high whilst a single Herring type, which looked good for Caspian, came through low and was immediately mobbed by the Commons. It came overhead but by the time I,d got the camera onto it, it was well out over the water so the shots were very poor but waiting to be looked through to see if there are any identifying features standing out.
Otherwise, just a single Buzzard, Kestrel and 2 Ravens.
Looking like its back to the fog and rain tomorrow on a light easterly.
