Back with the gulls Leeshaw

                                Big gulls on the water
                                    ad Herring
                                    Gulls in the goose field
                                Arriving en masse

The white headed LBB from yesterday

Centre gull believed to be Caspian
                                    Small dark eye
                                    Pale mantle, snout face
                                    White under-wings

                                    All taken at distance 300mm

                                Single Kestrel

                                Raggalds Flood Lapwings

A clear morning at Leeshaw with 50% cloud and some sun on a light W>3 at 5 degrees.
Another visit to Leeshaw to check on yesterdays gulls without being hampered by the fog with about the same good count as yesterday.
Around 250 small gulls along with several Herring and LBB. The pure white headed LBB was still present, standing out from the rest, whilst a second white headed gull was present but with a pale mantle.
I believe this bird to be a 2CY Caspian showing small dark eye, sloping forehead giving snout nosed look plus white underwings, seen on the images without shade. Poor photos as it took off from the back of the tower and flew west over the fields at the far side of the reservoir.  Correct me if I,m wrong. Otherwise the usual species plus a good early morning move of Woodpigs >S.
Raggalds Flood , on the way back, held 93 Lapwing as well as a few small gulls but no wildfowl .
