A wet and windy Leeshaw this morning with some heavy showers and dark clouds on a W>3 at 6 degrees.
Much quieter on the gull scene but enough to keep me occupied with around 150 small gulls and several LBBs and Herrings. A dipper was down in the beck whilst several groups of Fieldfare and Redwing were moving around the distant trees.
Squadrons of Starlings were heading fast and low >NW in migration mode denoting another vis mig season coming to a close, other than wildfowl and coastal birds.
Other than the gulls, there was nothing on the water apart from a single Cormorant and 2 Pied Wagtails on the banking. On the way back the Raggalds Flood held c 120 Lapwing and the usual small gulls but gain, no wildfowl.
Heavy showers p.m. but took the camera up Foxhill to test out the 1.4 converter on the 300mm lens taking me out to 672mm on the 1.6 Canon crop factor camera. First real chance I,ve had to check it out since I got it though the light was very poor.
Looking like a wet and windy few days to come but luckily no easterlies until the weekend.
