above and below 2 CY LBBs

A much cooler and livelier morning at Fly Flatts starting with low cloud and drizzle on a SW>3 at 17 degrees. The cloud soon lifted leaving good visibility with full grey cloud cover.
All the action was in the sky this morning with nothing other than Mipits on the deck and empty water on the reservoir.
Cormorants were the highlight of the watch with 11 coming over in twos and threes whilst the first Chaffinch started to come over along with Skylark and Siskin.
A few LBB gulls showing at last in the better conditions as they headed over the water >NE.
P.M. and Lynda fancied a shopping session at Keighley so we did a detour past Redcar Tarn on the way home for just a flying visit.
As expected, this early in the season, nothing special gull wise with just the usual LBBs, Herrings and Black Headed with just 4 Common. Otherwise, just the usual species on the water including the juv Gt Crested Grebe, although I didnt go round to inspect behind the island.
A call from NK of a pair of Shoveler on Ogden was eating away at me so after tea I threw the dogs in the car and headed over for a look. The pair was still present but, as always, right in the centre of the water. With Wigeon, Teal and Shoveler at Ogden over the last few days its got to be Pintail next !
