More dense fog on the tops this morning but Leeshaw was bright and clear on a light SW>3 at 12 degrees.
Good visibility apart from fog up on the moor to the south an west of me.
Still plenty shoreline at Leeshaw which is starting to attract the gulls and a good chance of autumn waders. The long staying Common Sandpiper was still present but very elusive and when showing its sticks to the far north shore.
A good gull morning with the surprise visit of an adult Great Black Backed which stayed about one hour before heading off >W. Several LBB and Herring as well as the usual Black Headed with the gulls now starting to use the north shore.
Cormorants were moving >W as well as 4 birds present whilst 3 female Goosander landed on the water.
Very few migrants overhead other than Swallow, House Martin and Mipit but a real lively birdy morning. No Pinks today even though conditions looked good.
