Working from home a.m. Fly Flatts p.m.

The gas man cometh this morning so I was on lock down doing the watch from Foxhill Park and the garden which was typical being the best morning weather wise for some time.
The sky was clear and bright on a light NE>3 at 6 degrees.
Redwings were coming over from the start very low and >N as opposed to their usual >NW as well as a lower number of Fieldfare which used the same direction.
Mipits, Starlings and Woodpigs were the only other movers counted.
At 1130 hrs a grapevine text of Pink Footed Geese over Hebden Bridge >E was worth a look for which I picked up from the bedroom window very high and well to the SW of me looking towards Saddleworth Moor. The 2 skeins contained a total of around 300 geese.
A good pre winter build up of Common gull in the park is now up to 43 early morning before the dog walkers arrive.
A late afternoon visit to Fly Flatts missed the good weather and
I arrived in low cloud with drizzle and rain. Nothing at all in the sky and just 2 Canadas on the water whilst the usual group of 2 Wheatear and 3 Stonechat were still present.
On the way home through Wainstalls 38 Collared Doves were on the wires at the pre roost meeting point by the old Delvers pub.
