Dodging the fog, tuther side ot'ill to Leeshaw.

Some strange looking sheep and cows overt'ill.

LBB, not many big gulls on the water.
                                              Resident Heron
                                               Plenty BH gulls
FLY FLATTS  p.m.                       9 Stonechat present

  • Dense fog on the tops this morning so took a gamble on Leeshaw reservoir which paid off being below the cloud base and showing some blue sky on a SW>4 at 8 degrees. Heavy rain appeared by 1000 hrs.
  •                     More Mipit movement this morning with birds trickling through on a broad front but mainly in twos and threes but unable to specialize on these as there was plenty other activities going on to watch and count.
  •                     Small squadrons of Starlings were going over fast and high along with 1 group of Redwing  all >NW.
  • Swallows are still showing with 5 over the water >S and another 4 on my way home this afternoon feeding over the Golden Fleece in Bradshaw. Possible some still feeding juvs there as I get them most days over the roadside farm.
  •                  Bright and sunny skies late afternoon at Fly Flatts on a W>4 but nothing moving in the air at all. A single Wheatear was along the west bank whilst 9 Stonechat and a few blogging Mipits were alongside the entrance track.
  •                                                                Nice to get back to picturesque Fly Flatts this afternoon with piles of rubbish dumped along the roadside as well as tubs of  Cannabis plants. A burnt out car was outside the top gate along with needles, tissues and laughing gas cartridges. The top fields at the north end had druggies searching for Magic Mushrooms. They dont mention that in the tourists information booklet.
