The highlight of the day, short lived sunrise, downhill after this.
Another day of decent conditions and very few birds. A near full cloud morning as the sun was soon lost with a cold S>4 at 7 degrees with milky, hazy skies but reasonable visibility.
At 0930 hrs and a full walk of Fly Flatts west bank I had a bird list of 1 Crow and a pair of Pheasant. The last 30 minutes saw a few birds trickle through but by 1000 hrs sheer boredom had set in so it was up stumps and away home.
Not wanting to face a late afternoon visit to Fly Flatts I headed for Leeshaw reservoir for some guaranteed birds but the story there was very much the same with no movers apart from around 40 blogging Fieldfare.
Plenty small gulls to sift through and a Buzzard in the air but otherwise just the usual residents.
Good to bump into BV up there and then a chat with Keighley Moor Reservoir birder James and his birding Mum . James,s Dad watches my blog for the bits of Yorkshire dialect I keep slipping in so, tha mon sithee ere an allus remember the Yorkshiremans motto,
Ear all, see all, say nowt
Eat all, sup all, pay nowt
An if thi ivver does owt for nowt
Allus do it for thissen.
