- On arrival at Fly Flatts this morning the fog was thick on a W>4 at 8 degrees then suddenly by 0830 hrs it cleared away like smoke leaving blue skies and sunshine with just low fog patches over the western ridge.
- The start of the morning was grim making me think I was wasting my time, when 30 minutes later I was firing away with 2 cameras at a decent sized skein of Pinkies coming over from the west heading >SE. After that it was action all the way with no big counts but a nice variety of species and something to watch throughout.
- My first 2 Fieldfares came over trailing behind 9 Redwing whilst a GBB gull headed >W. Merlin. Peregrine and Kestrel were active over the moor disappearing in and out of the fog patches.
- The late afternoon visit found a surprise with 3 Goosander on the water before heading off high and >SW, a very rare visitor to this stretch of water.
