A birding afternoon.

Ogden Teal still there at 1700hrs after earlier
 grapevine report from PS.
As usual way out in the middle
Lynda not really appreciating the delights of Leeshaw
She did enjoy the sunshine though

What a shame that all the shops and supermarkets are closed on Easter Sunday, Ha Ha.
After a stroll round Brighouse and finding a pound shop open which pleased Lynda but made me think I would,nt give a pound for everything in the shop we had a run round in the glorious sunshine.
Strangely the tour took us over Fly Flatts , past Paul Clough and ending up at Leeshaw Reservoir.
No wheatears present in all the usual hotspots and Leeshaw was very quiet other than the usual moorland birds.
A report from Pete Smith reporting a pair of Teal at Ogden was interesting mid afternoon so after tea it was some hedge cutting at Shelf Moor then a quick look at Ogden for a species I,d yet to get this year.
Even at 1700 hrs the place was heaving with people and cars but managed to slot the car into a gap and off down to the water.
The pair of Teal were slap bang in the centre of the water and in the sun so it was a dash round to the west bank to get the sun behind me for some very iffy record shots.
Well spotted to Pete Smith, not a common duck at Ogden.
Was going to look for JLs Redpoll in the Alders but with screaming kids, shouting parents and radios blasting I thought it was time to get away.
Ned Hill track on the way home was a Wheatear last resort as was Raggalds Flood, the latter now drying up quickly.
