More fog for Fly Flatts

Sun burning through the fog. Queensbury, early morn.

     FLY FLATTS                               Plenty Goldfinch

                                        Reed Buntings in the mist

                                Lots of grounded Meadow Pipits.

                                    Alive with Goldfinch.

The overnight fog failed to clear leaving Fly Flatts in the clouds with moderate visibility over the water, which kept part clearing before rolling in again. A light SW>3 at 9 degrees and a couple of rain showers. By 0945 hrs the fog was lifting but too near to knocking off time. A lovely sunrise over Queensbury with sun showing through the fog but giving a false sense of security being very short lived.
Working with horizontal vision only it was just a matter of checking the grounded and low flying birds with a good count of Meadow Pipits and Goldfinch around the shore and thistle beds. Reed Buntings, Wrens and Stonechat were also present.
The water held Mallard, Canada goose and a single 1cy Herring gull whilst 3 LBB gulls headed >NE low over the water.
A light ESE for morning with chance of rain and a capful of fog.
