                                          Unusually dark legs.

Fly Flatts looked bright and clear from my bedroom window this morning with fog in the valleys.
By the time I arrived the fog was moving in leaving clear horizontal viewing but a very low cloud base and dense fog over the west moor and east wind turbines. Steady drizzle throughout on a light  W2 at 7 degrees.
No sky movement to be seen in the low cloud and very little in the area with 22 Canadas and 12 Mallard on the water an just the one gull, above pics, on the west bank which I,m pretty sure its Herring but will have another study of the gull bible shortly.
The compound area held 5 Reed Bunting and 6 Stonechat as well as a couple of  Meadow Pipits but otherwise quiet.
A flock of 24 Redwing were over Wainstalls on my way home and Fieldfare are on their way though not in the country yet. The next few days should start picking them up although the bad conditions in the north has slowed down the movement.
Not a good forecast for morning with heavy rain and a strong SSE>6 gusting at gale force 8.
