Gulls on the peninsular
Distant Peregrine checking the shore
juvenile, brown bird
At last, a clear cracking morning at Fly Flatts with just 30% cloud but an icy NW>3 at 2 degrees.
A good morning to be up on the tops despite the low temperature and cold wind but nice in the sun with visibility skyward for a change.
An expectation of Pink Footed Geese today but nothing doing and very little moving over my area with just Woodpigs and Jackdaws. Surprisingly not a single Meadow Pipit over and none left on the deck with just Reed Buntings and Goldfinch.
A good count of gulls on the peninsular, which is unusual, with LBBs and Herring gull but nothing on the water other than 2 Canada geese whilst 2 Raven were over the quarry.
The highlight of the morning, though not a bird I want up here, was a juvenile Peregrine which skimmed along the west bank hoping to come across something on the waters edge, but I'd already tried that and we both came up with nothing.
Similar forecast for morning but a light westerly with temp still down at 3 degrees. Good visibility.
