Wood Sandpiper still present, Fly Flatts {permit only)

                                    1 of 3 Redshank

                                Wood Sandpiper

Across in the heat shimmer, west bank.

                                    2 of 4 Ringed Plover

                                    Still just the one Dunlin

Poor conditions at Fly Flatts this morning, too hot, too still and too sunny. A light E>2 at 10 degrees and good visibility other than a lot of heat shimmer. The forecast fog luckily burnt off by 0600 hrs.
A very lively first 30 minutes with waders moving around but all setting down by 0830 hrs as the temperature began to rise.
The Wood Sandpiper was still present, briefly in the SW corner before flitting across to the west bank then continuing feeding all along the west bank to the NW corner but too much heat shimmer to scope or photograph it.
Otherwise it was down to the usual waders and 3 Wheatear but mainly very quiet in the conditions and nothing moving skyward.
Sounds like another sticky morning tomorrow with still the light east wind and high temperatures with, again, a risk of morning fog.
